    • Developed a REST API using Express (Node.js) for looking up student information from a database
    • Developed a tool for teachers to automatically send score reports to 300 individual students per batch in PDF using Google Apps Script, saving time from printing and distributing score slips to students
    • Created IT related policies for the school from scratch, focusing on documentation, service quality and transparency; prepared 3 sets of policies and 10 standard forms for internal use

    • Developed tools for automating the analysis of student assessment data using Google Apps Script (XLSX file generation) and Python (seaborn / matplotlib); the tools were shared with other faculties
    • Developed Power BI dashboards to display students’ learning performance by ingesting data from different sources such as RDBMS and CSV
    • Developed a tool for batch downloading of student assignments from Google Classroom using Google Classroom API (Python)
    • Initiated and directed the curriculum change to include Python programming in Year 9; developed most of the learning materials and lab exercises for the 15-hour course
    • Coached a team of Year 11 students on extracting data from GeoJSON and map-plotting using the OpenLayers Javascript library for a data-themed competition
  • Research Assistant, Game Programmer at Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong (Jul 2012 - Jul 2013)
    • Learnt the cocos2d-x Javascript game library on-the-job in 1 month’s time; as the sole programmer, programmed an educational game with 5 levels for iPad using cocos2d-x, with assets provided by a video game company
    • Devised test plans and conducted internal testing of the game with volunteers
    • Performed quantitative educational research by running statistical tests using SPSS
